Artist Statement Biography

Jonah Reenders is an artist interested in the relationship between humanity and the natural world. His perspective is shaped by a nuanced understanding of scientific observation, identity, and connection. After graduating with a BS in Environmental Science, he worked as a field biologist for almost a decade. Collecting data through imagery, he weaves together formative narratives that seek to question our ecological understanding. He earned his MFA from California College of the Arts in 2025 and is a current graduate fellow at Headlands Center for the Arts.
