Artist Statement:
The Chocolate Cosmos flower, once presumed extinct, has been rediscovered thriving in the harshest desert conditions. Despite its minimal access to nutrients, water, and fertile soil, it exudes a chocolate fragrance and unveils rich, vibrant petals that encase a darker, cosmic core. This resilience and elegance amid adversity encapsulate the thematic essence of my ongoing latest series of abstract paintings, Dark Bloom.
Dark Bloom explores the journey from profound psychic darkness to a state of full bloom. The series delves into the perpetual cycles of death and rebirth, channelling the metaphysical energies of harmony and order. Created in a spirit of defiance, this body of work celebrates the wonder and beauty of physical existence, serving as a conduit for a deeply immersive and meditative presence for both the artist and the audience.
